Coming Soon - No tours or showings can be scheduled at this time. This is an iconic original pioneer's home of Lawrence according to neighborhood historian, Katie Armitage, in her history of Lawrence. It is considered the homesite of Col. George Collamore, first mayor of Lawrence, before Quantrill's Raid on Aug. 21, 1863. It was occupied by stone mason, Patrick Mugan and family circa 1869. The "Old West Lawrence" neighborhood is in the National Register of Historic Places and this home is a contributing structure although not listed separately. By virtue of the neighborhood, improvements to the home could qualify for 40% tax credits, and IF they aren't usable personally, they can be sold to another party for cash. Special features include the stone construction; high ceilings, economical, dust-free, and efficient boiler heat; brand new AC this August 2026, renovations including bathrooms, kitchen, and exterior fence and landscaping. This is the 1st time this landmark has been available since July 20, 2005
